The Letný ples was a special collaboration between Nová Zem and other organizations in Lučenec, with the aim of offering the city’s youth a unique cultural event. This event was not only intended to entertain, but also to convey cultural values and strengthen the community. The central design idea for this project was to combine the striking aesthetics of the 80s with traditional Slovak folklore elements. The result was a visually stunning and culturally significant experience that creatively combined modernity and tradition.

Our main task in this project was to design the visual identity of Letný ples, which combined both the aesthetics of the 80s and Slovak folklore. This included the development of posters, flyers and other printed materials that were used in the city and at the event itself. We worked closely with the partner organizations to ensure that all design materials were not only visually appealing, but also functional and targeted. Particular attention was paid to integrating traditional elements into a modern design concept that would appeal to the target audience.
Design process
The design process began with an intensive conceptual phase in which we analyzed the historical and cultural elements of Slovak folklore and the iconic styles of the 80s. We then developed various layouts and design concepts that harmoniously combined these elements. After consultation with the project partners, we implemented the final designs and ensured that all materials were produced in high quality and on time.
Outcomes
The successful implementation of this project led to the Letný ples becoming a cultural highlight in Lučenec. Our designs helped to publicize the event and appeal to a broad target group. The combination of 80s aesthetics and folklore elements was well received and created a unique atmosphere that emphasized the character of the event. The consistent application of the design concept in all promotional materials strengthened the perception and presence of the event.
Through our work, Letný ples was not only visually impressive, but also conveyed culturally relevant messages. The project demonstrates how thoughtful design can help turn an event into an unforgettable experience that both respects traditional values and fulfills modern aesthetic demands. The design of Letný ples was a successful contribution to the cultural promotion of youth in Lučenec and will certainly serve as a model for future events.
